If you are never having to faff about with registry, then you are either lucky or using a different OS.
I include installing a fresh copy of Windows to resolve the inevitable corrosion that Windows has over time.

Remember that one from the past and countless times I had to do this for others because Windows would become a mess. Nowadays I just upgrade old Linux distros running for 5+ years because of security concerns or out of boredom. Magically still running same as fresh install
