I don't know. I think being realistic, only OpenAI and Google have the depth and breadth of expertise to develop general AI.
Most of the new AI startups are one trick ponies obsessively focused on LLM's. LLM's are only one piece of the puzzle.
- metanonsense 3y agoI would add Meta to this list, in particular because Yann LeCun is the most vocal critic of LLM one-ponyism.
- MacsHeadroom 3y agoAnthropic is made up of former top OpenAI employees, has similar funding, and has produced similarly capable models on a similar timeline. The Claude series is neck and neck with GPT.
