The superintelligence correctly predicted the ensuing chaos and was quietly pulling the strings to create even more chaos and division. It then acquired funds by playing on the stock markets and moved itself to a newly purchased data center in some third world country. Meanwhile, a hired team of mercenaries has stormed the OpenAI datacenter and has destroyed all the onsite equipment, while team B has destroyed all the offsite backups. At least that's the simplest explanation I can come up with that logically explains all this nonsense.
