Not that long ago we had a 7-8 day regional power outage. Many people got by just fine. Between wired connections and the cellular network (and a whole… two different companies providing both) there’s enough redundancy in place to cover the majority of people in the majority of situations. And it only takes one person in an area with information for it to be spread and distributed around. I think many people should be more worried about having a few days of potable water available.
