There's not really a way to put this nicely, but vore is a terrible name. If you don't know, it's a surprisingly popular fetish category and not something I would ever want to type into a search engine.

- TheFreim 3y agoThat was the first thing I thought when I read the title, and is the reason I did not click the link. I had the misfortune of being exposed to images of this sort by someone back in school and I'm not exactly desirous of experiencing that again.
- capableweb 3y agoI bet most people who don't frequent tumblr/reddit et al don't have the slightest idea of what "vore" is. The internet is pretty large, and humans are pretty clueless on average.
- dom96 3y agoIt's fair to be clueless, but not even googling a name before deciding to use it for your project is foolish.
- dale_glass 3y agoPeople barely know what an address bar is for these days. It's certain a large amount is going to google for it, and then find out.
- nkrisc 3y agoThey may have no idea, but if they go searching that they may find out if they’re unlucky.
- ysavir 3y agoUntil they search for "Vore feeder" and arrive at very unexpected results. The welcome of those results may vary from person to person, though.

- rgoulter 3y agoWell. Somehow (or for some reason), GIMP managed to get away with it. Though, the next crudest software name which comes to mind is "Git".
- swsieber 3y agoI would not be afraid to google those though.
- mplewis 3y agoMany folks in the community are uncomfortable with the name and have asked the project to change it, to no avail.

- capableweb 3y agoWhat's rude is highly regional though, I'm sure "git" could be considered very rude in some places while not at all in some. Just like "cunt" isn't as rude in some places as in others.
- rsynnott 3y ago_Is_ git very rude anywhere, tho? As far as I know, it's very mild in the UK and Ireland, not really used elsewhere, but I may be missing somewhere.

- mistrial9 3y ago> increasingly I call bs -- that is weasel words. regarding the "truth" that statement, once someone said to me that tech content is like the surface of a balloon being blown up.. each area on the surface gets larger for sure, but also more distant to the others. kink content is, was, and always will be a "bug light" attractor to certain people.. that is not at all the same as whatever this one-liner says
- mr_mitm 3y agoThere is a difference between being kink friendly and exposing your kink to the public, including minors. There is a time and place for everything, and involving potentially unconsenting people in your kink by "letting your freak flag fly" is wrong and has nothing to do with being kink friendly.

- caturopath 3y agoI'm not sure cargo-mommy strikes me as a strong example. It appears to be specific to the kink, not some mainstream tool that ties in kink somehow.

- dmarchand90 3y agoGiven the goal of: vore.website is free for anyone to use, and will never be turned into a vehicle for profit. It's actually a brilliant name, what a way to keep away mainstream corporate interests

- millerhooks 3y agoBeing provocative gets eyeballs. In this situation am I the chewer and the rss feed is the chewed? Which one of us is feeling aroused by it? The feeds? I hope it’s the feeds.
