Thing is, I don't know what MSFT will do with all this, and whatever it aims to do, I can only imagine it will fuck it up. I'm sure you can say many positive things about Microsoft, but they really are good creating and milking monopolies, and extinguishing competition. Will they make a better copilot? I mean mayybe... More likely not I think, suffocating the new team with internal politics. And anyway surely that's a small part of Microsofts offering. Will they reinvent themselves as an innovative company in the ilk of OpenAI? I don't see that either. My guess would be that after months of tortured development and much bad blood, they will make a new stab at a new Clippy. And somehow it will be incredibly wonky too.
