One birthday I was given a crystal radio kit because I was interested in electronics. I recall "Stuck in the Middle With You", "Rock On", and "D'yer Mak'er" were in heavy rotation at the time. I guess that pins it to be 1973, so I was 9. It was magic. About five years ago I built an AM radio from a kit just for the fun of it. It worked but then I remembered there is nothing on AM radio I want to listen to these days (or the past 40 years).
