There is an issue in the std to name setenv unsafe but that is a breaking change so it's complicated.
- kibwen 3y agoOne problem is that marking that function as unsafe would unfairly penalize platforms like Windows that don't have this issue. Even if it turns out to be the least-bad compromise solution, it sure would be nice if we could have nice things.
