Are Nvidia chips also produced in Taiwan by TSMC?
And would this new project be the same, using chips made by TSMC?
Or would this be a diversification away from TSMC?
- pk-protect-ai 3y agoYou can't use the same chips as Nvidia without licensing them. Creating a new type of GPU/TPU is a complex endeavor that involves much more than just a single chip.
- djbusby 3y agoAll my reads of the rumors makes me think it's new fabs, chips and facilities and labs and all that.
- sangnoir 3y agoPerhaps that's what they are selling, but ASML lead times are many years-long. It sounds to me like a WeWork/Softbank-style heist: taking advantage of those who have more money than sense under cover of the current LLm/AI hype.
