Apple's head of security speaks out against iPhone app sideloading in interview
- gloyoyo 3y agoThis whole thing feels like being stuck between an app & a hard place. Hopefully, a good solution is found.
- Hackbraten 3y agoKrstic and Federighi are acting as if Apple was able to effectively protect users from malware (which is wrong), and as if no entity was going to be able to afford the same level of curation (which is hubristic.) Just let the user decide for fuck's sake. They paid for the hardware. Give them the freedom to choose and run whatever software they want already. I spent way too many years locked into Apple's ecosystem. Finally managed to switch to Linux (PureOS) this year, never going back.
