So what dosage would you recommend in terms of both and also is it always contingent on getting a blood test? Like it can't hurt to supp the minimum?
Edit: are there any a prioris you can offer as a basic jumping off point inline with your commentary?
- Maxion 3y ago> So what dosage would you recommend in terms of both and also is it always contingent on getting a blood test? It is very personal, and as your body makes D3 when exposed to sunlight it also varies significantly with the seasons.
- Obscurity4340 3y agoYa but its winter so lets say its statistically insignificant? What do? Edit: aha, thought experiment ;) just talking about this earlier Edit: to child reply: surely it can't be that touchy or non-robust. Not asking for medical advice ;) just give me a floor to investigate
- Maxion 3y agoThere's the NIH guidelines here: https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminD-HealthProfessional/ https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminD-HealthProfessiona...
- alexsereno 3y agoIt’s really hard to say without bloodwork since unique sun and gut absorption rates plus other things that affect your gut can affect your absorption.
- Obscurity4340 3y agoK Mayo Clinic says 600IU/daily. I'll take a 1000iu/with a K2 every other day maybe
- ekianjo 3y ago600 iu is way too little. Your body can make 20 000 IU when exposed to the sun for half an hour. 600 IU is the equivalent of placebo
- Obscurity4340 3y agoWhat do you think about hyperdosing D3 like a few times a month? Heard about that, something something lipophilic...
- CoastalCoder 3y agoIf possible I'd suggest working through this with a qualified physician. (I know this is a cliche response, but it seemed worth mentioning.)
