Making Swimming Pools Safer: Copper–Silver Ionization
- bell-cot 3y ago"Swimming Pools Safer" is a nice goal. But from the abstract, it sounds like this was an extremely early, narrow bit of research, focused just on "can we dial down the quantities of various organic chlorine compounds, which are byproducts of traditional chlorine sanitation?". So a long, long way from real-world application. Also note: The research was done in 2017-2018, and the article published in Feb. 2021.

- bell-cot 3y agoI'm neither an academic, nor chemist - as the authors are - to have any sense of "given COVID, was this publication delay unusual?". My point was that the title should have noted "(2021)", and that there's been plenty of time for later research and developments to supersede what's described in the article.
