There are significantly fewer people that would want to work with Ilya than there are people that would want to work with Sam/Greg. If Ilya could come out and clearly articulate how his utopian version of OpenAI would function, how they will continue to sustain the research and engineering efforts, at what cadence they can innovate and keep shipping and how will they make it accessible to others then maybe there would be more support.
