SpaceX's Second Starship Test Flight Ends in Another Explosion
- kolinko 3y agoThat’s a terrible title
- altairprime 3y agoIf you drop a note to the mods at hn@ycombinator.com with your suggestion and reasoning, they may well accept it.
- kristianp 3y agoThe original title (for me anyway) is: "SpaceX Rocket Test Reaches Milestone—And Ends With Explosion".
- _8j50 3y agoOn one hand I want SpaceX to succeed. But on the other hand, I can't stand Elon benefiting in any way. I won't commenr again about the rampant Elon supported racism at tesla or the him firing spacex employees begging him to stop letting his bullshit personal politics in the way of their mission. But he is literally supporting anti-semitism now in the open, to the point the anti-defamation league is pleading with companies to stop adverising on X. I don't want any human progress or achievement to come at such a high price. Not when the government is paying Elon for launches. I wish spacex all the success, hope Elon divests it to make up for his loss on twitter. I hope Elon all the failure in the world, or better yet I hope he finds redemption and sees the error of his ways, that he stops promoting hatred and division and peacefully enjoys his enormous wealth. Being a horrible person, despite the myth, is not a pre-requisite to achieving great things nor is it excused by such achievements.

- dragontamer 3y agoPraising a post defending Hitler is hardly about calling out genocide, is it not?
- psyman 3y agoSorry, my bad, I have not followed his tweets recently.

- leetgirl83 3y agoThe ADL has been promoting reverse discrimination against whites for years. It's what Elon was referencing when he agreed with the tweet post. And how many times does Elon need to say that he abhors antisemitism, and all forms of racism?
- jiggawatts 3y ago“He disagrees with the leaders of my tribe, hence he’s a member of the enemy tribe. That makes him bad!”
- _8j50 3y agoNo, he is an ass and cruel, that makes him bad. Praising hitler and supporting antisemitism has nothing to do with any "tribe" leader.

- pauldenton 3y agoWhen did he praise Hitler and support antisemitism?
- pfincent 3y agoSource please
- _8j50 3y agoI think this one has plenty sources but google had plenty of results: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/nov/16/elon-musk-antisemitic-tweet-adl https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/nov/16/elon-musk... I don't even keep up with that jerk but apparently he thinks as a the richest man on the planet he isn't being allowed to be proud of his race, the jews are after him because he is white and anyone who disagrees is engaging in anti-white racism. I hope sibling commenters asking the same thing read this. HN quotas and all.
- thegrim22 3y ago"that he stops promoting hatred and division" Your entire post is literally a rant with the sole purpose of promoting hatred and division.
- _8j50 3y agoAgainst whom? Elon? I can see how you would think I hate him but who is subject of the division here, that implies groups.
- entropicgravity 3y agoTwo 'nother explosions to be clear. On the other hand 90% of the launch goals were achieved.
- hulitu 3y agoSo the launch goals are to explode.
- taskforcegemini 3y agoor "don't explode" is in the 10%
- aeternum 3y agoThis just in, upon further research: Every orbital rocket launch in history has ended in an explosion or a crash Oh the humanity! Why isn't some company trying to solve this?
