Openai should now open source all of their models and work. That’s the only way “humanity” can benefit from their work.
- abirch 3y agoThe gotcha is that "humanity" is so inhumane and there are so many negative ways that AI can be abused. Once something is open source, all of the bad actors can start building on it.
- echelon 3y agoNo information should be hidden. This isn't a "fragile world" technology. If bad actors abuse the tech, then you make laws (or, in many cases, already have them on the books) against those behaviors. The negative externalities of AI are called "crimes" and we have a framework for handling them.
