- cratermoon 3y agoAh my old friend Whataboutism. We meet again. https://theconversation.com/whataboutism-what-it-is-and-why-its-such-a-popular-tactic-in-arguments-182911 https://theconversation.com/whataboutism-what-it-is-and-why-...
- fred_is_fred 3y agoIt's a satire site.
- cratermoon 3y agoYes I know. The satire is still whataboutism. The "just joking, bro" response doesn't excuse it.
- rexpop 3y agoIt's apples to oranges, of course. Apple is one of the largest and most profitable companies in the world, and China is one of its most important markets. According to Apple's 2023 annual report, China accounted for 14.6% of its total revenue, or $42.5 billion, making it the third-largest region after the Americas and Europe. Apple also relies on China for its supply chain, as many of its products are manufactured or assembled by Chinese companies such as Foxconn and Lens Technology. Obviously, Apple tolerates China's human rights abuses because of its financial interest and dependence on the Chinese market and suppliers.
- fred_is_fred 3y agoI guess nobody knows it's a satire site.
- skinnymuch 3y agoI think people know. It reads so bad it obviously isn’t real to any one who didn’t know beforehand.
- skinnymuch 3y agoYes China has the brutal dictator and America is a liberal Democratic free land for all. Maybe American propaganda isn’t always correct? Have you seen the coverage given to events in the Middle East in American media? The same BS Babylon Bee believes to be true?
