The language->intent stuff is not solved but it’s long been “good enough” for basic tasks. The long-tail of integrating with other services is hard and not improved by better AI (unless you have some clever new ideas). Maintaining the actual logic that lets Alexa talk to hundreds of APIs is very human-intense even if it’s not hard.
