Prison phone company leaked 600K users' data and didn't notify them, FTC says
- meepmorp 3y agoHopefully this can be parlayed into entirely destroying the extortion racket that is the prison phone calls business in the US. The way the US handles nearly everything related to prisons is hot garbage.
- valianteffort 3y agoBecause most people in prison or incarcerated deserve to be there. They are not good people who made a mistake, they are sociopaths who don't belong in society and you won't find many people that want them out. We can't even get the government to help working class americans and you want to spend a second/dollar on those locked up? Give me a break
- entropyie 3y agoRight, because only bad people ever end up in prison...

- dvektor 3y agoThe handful of companies that run virtually all the commerce/communication in the US prison systems, are some of the worst companies on the planet and should absolutely be shut down. GTL/Securus/BobBarker/etc are profiting off criminal extortion of families and loved ones of incarcerated people.
- SuperNinKenDo 3y agoTelcos are some of the worst companies I've ever had the displeasure if dealing with as a voluntary customer. I can't even imagine how terrible they become when they have a completely (literally) captive consumer base.
- wkat4242 3y agoI always thought a prison phone was one of those really really tiny cell phones :)
