Ransomware gang files SEC complaint over victim's undisclosed breach
- gomox 3y agoYou have to respect the hustle to a certain extent, but yikes, these guys are sure to be made an example of.
- hedora 3y agoIt'll be interesting to see how this plays out. The victim is claiming there was no breach. I wonder what the SEC will do if it turns out that it's just a stalling tactic. In the worst case, the ransomware gang will provide proof they provided the proof of the breach to the victim. At that point, I wonder what the SEC will do.

- helsinkiandrew 3y agoWhilst they presumably aren't going to get a whistleblowing award as they did the hack, I wonder if there's an opportunity to make money by scanning the darkweb for material being sold that's been hacked from public companies, seeing if its been reported and making a complaint if not.
