Didn't know this game existed. Seems like it may have been inspiration to "Stunt Race FX" from SNES. Great game! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stunt_Race_FX

- sys_64738 3y agoStunt Car Racer came out in 1989. Five years before this thing you mention.

- golergka 3y agoReminded me of Stunts, the game of my childhood. I just recently found out it STILL has an active community: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/the-remarkable-community-around-a-27-year-old-ms-dos-racing-game https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/the-remarkable-community-ar...
- lubujackson 3y agoStunts! was glorious freshman year of college. There were so many bugs we found, my friends and I started making "illegal" levels, where there was a small circular track but the real track was slightly off the path. I remember one track that used all the bugs - you could drive on the water if you were mostly driving into the fence, you would get a weird burp in the air to make a slightly longer jump if you came at the right angle, etc. Sadly, all the levels were lost in a tragic HD crash, but the memory lives on!
- prmoustache 3y agoSame here, I spent so much time designing tracks and trying them out on lots of diffent cars.
- sundvor 3y agoGeoff Crammond's work is kind of legendary in the industry :-) Here's a great take on SCR: https://youtu.be/hcmSBwLKVOY?si=PPecndiH1E6NFfsq https://youtu.be/hcmSBwLKVOY?si=PPecndiH1E6NFfsq I have very fond memories of playing that with a friend, first on the C64 then on the Amiga - with a serial cable for multiplayer connectivity! Edit: Adding in this awesome analysis of Revs as well, by same YT author - https://youtu.be/p5s-zbXtDoo?si=3Y3YRn2i0QI7yaBJ https://youtu.be/p5s-zbXtDoo?si=3Y3YRn2i0QI7yaBJ . Great watch!

This game on Amiga networked for multiplayer was one of my first "LAN party" experiences on any sorta regular consistent basis. Me and my friends would have tournaments every weekend at one of our houses and man was it fun stuff!
