The author's focus on the "whiteness" of Silicon Valley betrays a comical disconnection with reality. I suspect this author lives in the Silicon Valley of Twitter and Social Media.
Has this person ever waited in line for Din Tai Fung? Or know the difference between IIT Bombay vs IIT Delhi?
Give me a break.
- gizmo 3y agoVCs and C-suite are a great deal whiter than the engineers, if you hadn’t noticed.

- dang 3y agoCould you please stop posting unsubstantive comments and flamebait? You've unfortunately been doing it repeatedly. In fact, you've been doing it almost exclusively, and we've asked you more than once already to stop. It's not what this site is for, and destroys what it is for. If you wouldn't mind reviewing https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html and taking the intended spirit of the site more to heart, we'd be grateful.
- camillomiller 3y agoWhat you call unsubstantive and flamebait is most of the time mainly criticism, but framing it this way is a nice gaslighting technique. If this what Hacker News wants, instead of substantial and sometimes heated and controversial discussion, then fine. I’ll be refraining from comments so every thread just reads like a park full of daisies, while the dismissive holier-than-thou comments keep floating to the top. Cheers.

- yterdy 3y agoYou misunderstand the nature of whiteness, if you think this is a problem. An uninterrogated aspiration to a Western state of being, atrocities and all, is tantamount to The Thing Itself.
