Wonder if curl runs in more devices than Java?
- SushiHippie 3y agoCould be, as curl comes preinstalled in Windows, MacOS and most of the linux distributions (non-minimal installations). But I don't think Android ships curl per default, but Android uses Java. Though I don't think there is an official number for this.
- neuromanser 3y agoActual curl in Windows? The powershell namesake shares no implementation and only very superficial bit of interface.
- geku3 3y ago"curl" in PowerShell is an alias to something else. There's also "curl.exe" that comes with Windows that is actually curl.
- benkillin 3y agoinvoke-webrequest
- frabbit 3y agohttps://curl.se/windows/microsoft.html https://curl.se/windows/microsoft.html The curl tool comes installed in addition to the dreaded curl alias that plagues Powershell users since it is an alias that runs the invoke-webrequest command and therefore isn't acting much like curl at all. A work-around is to invoke curl as "curl.exe" to prevent powershell from treating it as an alias
- tyingq 3y agoPerl is also pretty impressive. If not by documented count of operating systems, at least by real diversity. https://github.com/Perl/perl5/tree/blead/hints https://github.com/Perl/perl5/tree/blead/hints https://www.cpan.org/ports/archive-2011-03-26.html https://www.cpan.org/ports/archive-2011-03-26.html
- Cthulhu_ 3y agoWonder if curl is part of the JVM / distribution, if so then it would, lol. That said, as far as I'm aware Java is the only one that brags about how many devices it's on.
