- ZeroGravitas 3y agoHe's stil not admitting he was wrong about renewables, even doubles down on it in the intro. Paraphrase: "Oh all the idiots were saying let's just roll out lots of solar and wind, but we needed innovation because not everything is electricity like ... <names four or five things that are easily decarbonised if you have lots of solar and wind>" And just to highlight that he knows this is BS, in his section on expanding the grid, he wavers between "renewable generation alone isn't enough, we need grid buildout" (note, absolutely no attempt to quantify this, and intentional muddying of the waters by including areas that don't have a grid yet) and then admits grid buildout is mostly just rolling out existing tech.
