My point wasn't about morality, it was about loyalty. The one thing diplomats should be is loyal to their country, to represent their country's interest above their own. Clearly, no sane person could expect someone who just back-stabbed the legitimate government in order to win an election to do that. Other than that I fully appreciate that morality has no place in international relations.
