im not convinced we should show climate scientists hanging out in the artic as the poster child for climate science either. Climate scientists have a rape problem [1], they need to justify why investigating the ice sheets and glaciers melting is still interesting and not just green washing avoiding fixing the problem, and, as someone who works in climate science, they need to explain how the skill sets of people on the ice meet a modern scientific world where programming is much more useful than skiing. much of the results of someone putting mass balance poles are not super informative compared to the results coming from ICESAT missions.
