Reading the article I wanted to understand why it is possibly the best timed shot in TV history but it didn’t seem to provide the answer? What am I missing? Can somebody explain?
- taylorfinley 3y agoFor the shot to work he had to point towards the rocket exactly as it ignited, meaning he had to deliver the whole line at just the right pacing to punctuate it with the rocket igniting. Today he'd just be standing on a green screen and they would add the rocket in post, but this is "doin' it live"

It's probably a common skill in presenting, on radio / DJing they call it "hitting the post" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glossary_of_broadcasting_terms#H https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glossary_of_broadcasting_terms...
