I concur. For me, raising a child is about raising a functioning future adult. Bunging them £x000 when (hopefully) they're in their 60s seems a bit too late for me to have done my job properly. Further, what does the parent expect from their parents when they die? Are they going to be annoyed if they don't get 'enough'?
