In https://GitHub.com/celtera/avendish https://GitHub.com/celtera/avendish it's used to do operations on (heterogeneous) I/O ports of data flow objects (simply represented by variables of basic types.. float, int, string, etc.). This library would be entirely impossible in c++ without that feature.
