Why IBX and Why Lazarus (2011)
- theamk 3y agotl/dr: they did not want to learn new stuff and wanted to keep their "software development investment" > what would happen to all the software development investment that I had made in Delphi based software.
- YakBizzarro 3y agoAnd so? It seems to me a very legit wish, they have tons of code to rewrite for little benefit. And this is the extreme opposite of just complaining: they took their critical missing component, ported to the new ide and released for everyone
- theamk 3y agoNothing wrong with that wish, I am just giving the answer to the question posed in the title, and to the first sentence of the text ("why should you use Lazarus in the first place") (I used to program in Delphi back in high school, and so I am interested in the FPC/Lazarus news.. maybe it's finally time for me to go back to basics? But at least this article's main argument does not sound very compelling to me.)
- YakBizzarro 3y agoMuch clearer, thanks :)
