Impossible GPT Apps
I've tried and failed miserably at making two GPT apps.
1. A chess game which shows the visual state of the board after every move (as a DALL-E 3 image).
2. A TensorFlow visualizer, which takes a model summary plot image as input, and displays a new plot with the nodes properly represented (I feel that I could have made this work w/ a bit more effort, but decided it wasn't worth it).
But it does make me think that these apps are kind of gimmicky and I don't really understand how they are much better than just asking ChatGPT questions directly, despite the fact that they have their little self-contained instructions and fine-tuning.

- jzombie 3y agoThat seems like a pretty interesting app.
- sebastiennight 3y agoI think GPTs are basically like Wordpress themes: - you can, as an end user, tweak your own wordpress as your heart desires, but a theme allows you to get all the customizations that somebody else has done - it's the same with somebody else's GPT. It's still ChatGPT, with somebody else's makeup added. To the best of my understanding, they are NOT like a Wordpress plugin. They don't really add features or capabilities that your personal ChatGPY account didn't have.
- jzombie 3y agoYeah, it seems that way.
