The "news folks" just want someone to give them money. When social media posts links to news, and doesn't pay them, they complain. When social media doesn't post links to news, and doesn't pay them, they also complain. If Twitter and Facebook paid them billions of dollars (for what?), the news folks wouldn't care if they post links to news.
