What If Gravity Is Not Quantum?
- meepmorp 3y agoMy entirely groundless, unscientific, and unfalsifiable hypothesis is that we are in a simulation and that the other fundamental forces are simulated, but gravity is the part of underlying reality leaking through.
- turtleyacht 3y agoInspired by this, magic could represent the energy of the shared narrative of a tabletop roleplaying group's imagination. It doesn't need anything more than being measurable by the game world's upper limit of science, but it's there (and, like gravity, leakly quantifiable). Maybe those mad wizards are not so crazy after all, if they have awareness of a fourth wall. Yet the separation between all their machinations and our ability to stand from the table is an unbridgeable gap. Similarly, if we are simulations, we are not completely autonomous, except a mirror drives us, or a "global consciousness"--the Dungeon Master (DM).
