What I don’t get is “50% utilization” as if you have a faucet on half way. Surely with a single pipe and a spikey load you would get occasional performance degradation anyway? I would imagine that “shit experience” time percentage driving up sharply (depending on the distribution) so that even 60% would be
intolerable.
For comparison imagine a bar decides to have 1 server based on average demand. Then Friday night comes.
