Google Asks Regulators to Make iMessage Compatible with Android
- more_corn 3y agoApple abuses their stranglehold on iMessage to engage in anticompetitive behavior. I wrestled with it all morning. They recently started forcing everyone to pay for iCloud to keep iMessage working. They hide it under the illusion of choice but it’s impossible to use iMessage and not pay. Their monopoly locks their users into the ecosystem preventing them from choosing a better device or a device at a better price. If iMessage worked across platforms I’d leave the iPhone ecosystem today. I’m still tempted to do it and just switch to signal. The framework laptop is user serviceable something Apple refuses to embrace. I only wish the only other phone option wasn’t Google the other dickhead in the room.
