I don't like the idea of Mormons baptizing the dead without their consent, full on resurrection without consent seems even more intrusive.
Followup question: would immortality be forced, or could one choose to commit suicide?
- sangnoir 3y agoIan M. Banks novel Surface Detail (light spoiler follows) speculates on how resurrection might not be pleasant for everyone involved. If we had the technology to resurrect people today, can you imagine how valuable it would be for military and intelligence-gathering purposes? Or skirting around labor laws? (see Lena by qntm). How technology is used is always determined by our political and economic regime.
