"and (shudder) pop-up ads"
I had to close 3 or 4 pop-ups, before I could read the article. This is sadly pretty normal nowadays, and I don't want to know how bad it would be, if I wouldn't use ublock origin.
The web is utterly broken and I can't believe that the masses are able to migrate to the fediverse (which is the proposed fix of the author).
- sonicanatidae 3y agoPihole or Brave are my minimum when I open any webpage. For everything else, there's UBlock. I understand the need for ads, but in the past decade it's just gotten way out of hand. The literal content is practically unreadable, and I'm tired of accidentally clicking on the ad, when I try to target the single active pixel in the X to close it. Constantly moving images while one is trying to read are infuriating. As always, humans fucked up a good thing.
