See §38 to PE-CONS 2/23 "A portable battery should be considered to be removable by the end-user when it can be removed with the use of commercially available tools and without requiring the use of specialised tools, unless they are provided free of charge, or proprietary tools, thermal energy or solvents to disassemble it."
- bluescrn 3y agoThe need to fight with adhesives via heat or chemicals is the main problem, that and the availability of the batteries. Earlier iPhones were quite easy to swap a battery in, the main issue then was availability of decent-quality replacement batteries.
