MrBeast builds 100 wells in Africa, attracting praise – and some criticism
- logicalmonster 3y agoI can understand the legitimate concerns about sustainability (who knows if those wells are going to be maintained and in service a year or two from now) but some of the criticism of these charitable actions is truly bizarre and disturbing. And I'm saying this as somebody who's not a fan of MrBeast at well.
- billybuckwheat 3y agoAs someone (I forget whom) said, the best way to attract criticism is to try to do some good for someone else.
- proc0 3y ago> overnight, this person comes along, who happens to be a white male figure with a huge platform, and all of a sudden, he gets all of the attention. It’s kind of frustrating, but it’s also understanding the nature of how the world is haha, this is coping and jealousy. I think it's also not about "white male figure", but rather how the younger generations are thinking of problem solving with more creativity and technology in the mix. If only these organizations had thought about how much demand there is for this type of content that would have funded their efforts.
