> ... service called Zapple Pay (which we covered here back in July), which initial goal was to help iOS users escape Apple's censorship on Zaps. You could then connect your Lightning wallet to Zapple Pay through NWC, paste your Nostr public key (a.k.a npub), and from then on the Zapple Pay service would watch your Nostr notes and, any time you responded to a note with a specific emoji, trigger a notification to your Lightning wallet over NWC, telling to zap the note you were responding too.
Zapple Pay, Zaps, Lightning, NWC, Nostr, npub, zap the note etc etc - truly a technology simple enough and ready for adoption by your average joe
- teekert 3y agoNew tech often comes with a completely new nomenclature. Existing language is just to cumbersome to use when every second word requires explanation because it is a new concept. You also see this with Nix, it’s a new paradigm and it suffers from the same problems.
- fragmede 3y agookay, but "zapple pay"?
- teekert 3y agoYeah ok. Zapple pay is hard to take serious.
- stonogo 3y agoThis isn't new tech, it's just a chat bot that triggers payments, with some light trademark infringement. The reason they're burdening their product description with twee jargon is because their target market is people who choose products based on these buzzwords. If it were a broad target market it would just use English to describe this stuff, and it wouldn't be explicit about dodging the policies of the platform they've chosen to trade on.
