Google and prominent telecom groups call on Brussels to act over Apple iMessage

- sylware 3y agoIn theory, there is now regulation in place: you can "choose" now to be either forced to use google messaging client or forced to use apple imessage and be able to "chat" with google accounts and imessage accounts (mild irony). Wow, going from Big Tech to Big Tech, amazing, this wouldn't be a failure, if you could use small tech to "chat" with google accounts and imessage accounts. A TLS enable IRC bridge? With account creation using a noscript/basic (x)html browsers or special commands in IRC (and some people could write a nice looking small tech GUI for that). Or another super stable in time and as technically simple than IRC network protocol? (we could think about a HTTP 1.1 based protocol, namely with a permanent TCP/IP connection... well I am throwing ideas here). I guess this regulation have good intentions, from forcing interop with gov "services" to allowing small tech to be a real thing.
