Tell HN: AI New Digital Divide
A new digital divide.
You all know these "previous generation" people? You know, those who use technology (smartphones, tablets, PCs, internet) but they just do not do it right? They use it, but in a kinda wrong, clunky, slow way. And not to the full potential. Well, if it makes them happy.
DIGITAL DIVIDE 1
And then there is us, we use technology the right way. Fast, efficient, we use it when it brings value, we do not use it when we think "nah, I don't like it".
We use it the "right way".
For the first group, we are "the younger generation", see below.
DIGITAL DIVIDE 2
And then there is "the younger generation". They use smartphones when they should use PCs. They use technology the whole time even when they shouldn't. They edit videos on smartphones, why would anyone do that? Well, they are inexperienced and will know better over time.
By the way, we are "previous generation" for them
And now there is DIGITAL DIVIDE AI
There are those who use AI - for all tasks they can think of. And for tasks they could not think of, and do it anyway.
And those who don't.
And those who don't, are using technology in a wrong, clunky, slow way. And not to the full potential. Well, if it makes them happy.
This new DIGITAL DIVIDE AI is bigger than THE SUM OF ALL OTHER DIGITAL DIVIDES COUNTED TOGETHER of the internet age.

- kosasbest 3y agoAI is just hype at the moment, and subject to a hype cycle. Now we're at the peak, but usage will drop. The people using AI and wielding it the 'right way' will have made their money and live in Margaritaville, and everyone else will just use it as a personal assistant to make life easier, not make millions. Things will settle down. It will integrate into everything eventually just like a basic search functionality has been integrated into any capable app.
