Insane Engineering of the F-16
- HHC-Hunter 3y ago[flagged]
- CamperBob2 3y agoValid question that shouldn't be downvoted, IMO. One answer is that as long as there are worse people doing worse things, it's not immoral to build and use whatever tools are needed to stop them. Note the last few minutes in this very video, for instance.
- Koshkin 3y ago> worse people doing worse things Do not judge lest you be judged. (Matthew 7:1)
- CamperBob2 3y agoEven better, don't put yourself in a position where people are likely to judge your actions negatively. For the most part, countries that don't invade their neighbors or commit atrocities have little to fear from the F-16.

- extraduder_ire 3y agoDon't most fly-by-wire systems have such a limiter? (unless they have a specific mode where it's disabled, like the a320's alternate-law/direct-law systems) No idea if there's toggle or breakable wire somewhere to let you exceed these design limits on this plane though.
- Alifatisk 3y agoWasn’t the F-35 the most complicated build?
- extraduder_ire 3y agoYes. Brian also made a video about that plane (F-35B) earlier. They all have the title format "The Insane Engineering of.." Personally, I'm a big fan of the A-10 warthog video, and how it laid out the plane's main design goal: "how cheaply can we get a GAU-8 doing strafing runs over this 20km section of german airspace, where russian tanks may show up one day?" The f-16 is more topical now, since it's more common, and is about to be deployed as a "cheap" plane to fight against russian planes. Like it was designed for in the first place.
- 1letterunixname 3y agoPraise be to Viper engineers, drivers, mechanics, and mere admirers limited to the likes of Spectrum Holobyte and Thrustmaster. Shame on to the F-35 "low" "replacement", my left foot, with an outsourced DoD and hydra-like MIC.
- 1letterunixname 3y agoF-16 can be forced to stall, called a "deep stall". It's exited by toggling a certain AoA mode. [pdf] https://www.falcon-bms.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/FM_Developers_Notes_Part_4.pdf https://www.falcon-bms.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/FM_Dev...
- tekla 3y agoYou can force anything to stall. Its easy (assuming something isn't actively preventing you)
