- rmason 3y agoThis story is pretty well known to all Detroiters but when you mention it to anyone outside the area they think you're crazy. After being shot by three people on a pizza delivery the guy invents the bullet proof vest in his hospital bed. The most amazing part was that he was unable to sell it until he did a demo to police where he shot himself wearing one on stage. That is a bold commitment to your idea. For probably close to twenty years in the home of franchised pizza companies you couldn't get pizza delivered in the city of Detroit because the chances of the driver getting robbed were so high. That is no longer the case, but there's a pretty good chance the driver will be armed.
