To what extent are temperature levels changing due to greenhouse gas emissions?
- throw80808013 3y agoThese tests show that standard climate models are rejected by time series data on global temperatures. Finally, we update and extend previous statistical analysis of temperature data (Dagsvik et al., 2020). Using theoretical arguments and statistical tests we find, as in Dagsvik et al. (2020), that the effect of man-made CO2 emissions does not appear to be strong enough to cause systematic changes in the temperature fluctuations during the last 200 years.
- wiz21c 3y agodidn't read the article, but : "... to cause systematic changes in the temperature fluctuations during the last 200 years." they seem to talk about fluctuations, not extremes. Are they ?
- quantified 3y agoNot enough words, or perhaps these are specific terms of art in some community. Fluctuation could be night to day, winter to summer, etc. Or, one errant word by a non-native speaker can throw the whole interpretation off.
- DamonHD 3y agoIt appears to be straightforward denialism.
- throw80808013 3y agoRemember, the denialism backed with statistical evidence is called science. As opposed to scientific consensus, which is the opposite of science: faith in experts.
