Very interesting, I wonder how they are doing it. The FAQ mentions that the CPU cores are shared.
My guesses:
- They are doing something like Netflix's internal spot market https://netflixtechblog.com/creating-your-own-ec2-spot-market-6dd001875f5 https://netflixtechblog.com/creating-your-own-ec2-spot-marke....
- Or, they reserve a bunch of super large burstable instances at a discount, then run many jobs on there each in a firecracker vm, then do some sort of quota/reservation per job to allow it to use some of the burstable credits when it needs to.
- NikPuashkin 3y agoNone of the above :) We're fully independent and host everything ourselves.
