Until we spend the initial outlay to improve EV infrastructure (and it will cost trillions) there is no incentive at all to buy an EV.
By 'infrastructure', I mean as many charging stations as there are currently petrol pumps. But to supply enough energy to all those charging stations, the nation's electrical grid will have to be DOUBLED at least.
The electrical grid is the roadblock. It just can't supply enough energy to the necessary numbers of charging stations. If Texas can run out of energy in Winter, it's the 'canary in the coalmine' showing that the nation's electrical grids are pushing their limits already without having to supply extra energy for millions of EVs.
