Not the way to look at it. Without the sanctions, the Chinese would have been very happy to keep on buying ASML's products. The sanctions meant they were forced to build their own, and will now compete with ASML. And the Chinese have a lot more cash to splash than ASML does on R&D for the next smaller chip levels.
