The article also willfully ignores the fact that 80% of the migrants are young men. Perhaps they are escaping a grim life of servititude to the gangs in their former neighborhoods but many of them will likely find themselves still serving as gang members but in a foreign country. Now that they are roaming the sanctuary cities looking for "opportunity", the public sees them as they really are. They are no longer "abstract".
