The Looming Spaceport Bottleneck
- drozycki 3y agoWhat about Texas? There’s the Johnson Space Center (“Houston we have a problem”), plus I thought SpaceX had a Starbase there too.
- ianvorbach 3y agoFair point! SpaceX has their site at Boca Chica, but its really only capable of demonstration launches that can thread the needle between Florida and Cuba. Frequently operating rockets need a wider range of orbits you can reach, and so you really need a site on the coasts.
- wmf 3y agoJSC isn't a launch site and Starbase has been neutered by environmental red tape.
