Anything Israel-Palestine is flagged, in particular, as soon as it reaches the front page. I imagine an "IDF HN desk", in fact an Israeli tech-minded conscript in fatigues, refreshing the HN front-page once a minute, pasting offending URLs into a Slack channel for a team of like-minded volunteers across the world. Bored shitless, mostly playing with his phone and scratching his cods. Anyone with a more accurate information on the flagging operation, please correct me!

  > Anything Israel-Palestine is flagged This makes sense. Thank you for your answer. > I imagine an "IDF HN desk" I would imagine other side (Hamas/Palestine) having this as well: which is even more reason for flame wars.

I don't think they have a sufficiently reliable network connection :-|

I guess Hamas or their supporters wouldn't necessarily only be in Palestine, but in many other countries as well. For example, Russia and many Arab countries are a well-known supporter of them. Many senior officers visit Turkey frequently.

  > I imagine an "IDF HN desk" Indeed, the pro-Israel lobby includes (at least) one sophisticated, expensive, realtime monitoring system for social media posts. There's some coverage of that and other efforts of NGOs dedicated to advancing Israeli state interests in this documentary series: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHEvpbppx_4rgC8q0TVMf2QlNE5hXvcZS&feature=shared https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHEvpbppx_4rgC8q0TVMf2QlN...
